J'ai toujours peint dans le but d'assouvir ce besoin physique de créer quelque chose de concret exprimant la beauté et la complexité de la vie.
J'ai souvent cette impression que l'art (art plastique, musique, écriture) décrit l'expérience humaine de manière si satisfaisante, réunissant des choses qui semblent au premier abord si distinctes les unes des autres, en les rendant non-seulement compréhensibles mais également belles.
Mon travail peut être qualifié d'expressionniste puisqu'il est étroitement lié à la gestuelle, au mouvement qu'effectue mon bras et mon pinceau en parcourant la surface de la toile ou de la page.
À travers l'abstraction, mon travail fait référence au corps, par ses coups de pinceaux négligés et ses arrondis imparfaits.
Diverses préoccupations structurelles s'inscrivent dans mon travail (grilles, cercles, arcs et voûtes), mais c'est bien le désir de créer un lien physique avec les matériaux, la recherche de la forme à travers la couleur et la ligne, qui permettent de me définir comme liée au monde.
Anne Russinof vit et travaille à Brooklyn, NY. Originaire de Chicago, elle est diplômée de la School of the Art Institute de Chicago et fut reçue au MFA du Pratt Institute. Russinof a été résidente au Yaddo, au Millay Art Colonies et est membre de l'association American Abstract Artists. Designer pour l'impression et le web, elle tient également un blog nommé Gallery Travels qui présente ses oeuvres essentiellement abstraites exposées à NYC.
